ALL RED MEMBERSHIP – IMPORTANT INFORMATION
We have been advised by Liverpool Football Club that all our members wishing to go to matches from the second half of next season MUST be ALL RED MEMBERS.
Details have been sent to members registered with us via the e-mail circular, and also we have posted a special page on our website.
If enrolling on-line, you have to join via a special link that knows you are from a Supporters Club and you must select the “Grimsby” Branch from the drop down menu.
Or alternatively you can send a cheque for £29 per adult and £11.99 per junior member to Mike Langmaid.
You must however include the following details :- Full name, Date of Birth, Address, Mobile Telephone number and e-mail address.
Please note that there is a strict deadline of August 31st by Liverpool F.C. but our own supporters club’s deadline is actually the 15th August, this will give us chance to evaluate the situation in advance.
MEMBERSHIPS
Please note that last Season’s memberships expired on the 30th June , so I f you have not renewed you need to do so pretty quickly, bearing in mind the introduction of the ALL RED MEMBERSHIP details of which can be found in the column to the left and also that we cannot issue any tickets to non-members.
This season full membership cards are yellow and Juniors are now green with a valid date until that person reaches the age of sixteen (provided that a parent/guardian remains a fully paid up member), the membership numbers for Juniors have also changed to the same number as one of their parent’s followed by the initial “J”.
Already over 160 members have renewed and I know that our Secretary Deborah Norton has been busy processing these, Membership renewals received up to the end of July have already been sent out to members.
Numbers for last Season : 28 Home Games – 26 Coaches to matches – 325 Members – 39 aged 16 or under – 233 people travelled to Anfield with us – 106 went to 2 matches or more – 5 matches we returned tickets back to LFC – 14 consecutive seasons of organised travel to Anfield by our Club.
NOTES FROM THE CHAIR
Here we go again, another season is upon us, let’s hope for a better season both on and off the field.
This season marks our 15th year of running a supporters club and never has there been a more critical time regarding the allocation of match tickets etc, the Committee are extremely busy this time of the season and in fact this season is even more demanding because of the introduction of the All Red Membership.
It is vital that each member understands the implications of not signing up to be a Member of the Scheme.
Yes it’s fifteen years since the idea came from Andy Wheatley to form a Supporters Club and in relation to other Affiliated Supporters Clubs to Liverpool Football Club, we are one of the oldest.
The Committee hope to mark this occasion by having a suitable Guest Speaker at our annual function in January, plans are already being made to make this a special evening.
I look forward to seeing some “old faces” and also some new one’s during the forthcoming season!. YNWA – Kevin.
We do hope that these newsletters are of interest to you and keep you up to date with matters within the club. If you have any comments or ideas, please let a member of the Committee know, or e-mail us on info@lfcgrimsby.co.uk . Also we have around 250 people signed up to receive e-mail circulars, If you would like to receive information in advance such as ticket availability for example then send your e-mail address to our e-mail as given on the line above.
End.

NOTES FROM THE CHAIR
Whilst we always keep our information/news to strictly matters concerning our own supporters club, there is no question that the performance on the field this season has had a big effect on the running of our supporters club. The amount of fixtures moved from a Saturday to a Sunday or Monday night was a major headache and for the first time we have had to return tickets for matches this season, which also included a Champions League match with nothing at stake.
Details of our AGM are enclosed in this newsletter, you can also vote by e-mail which we introduced last year and proved quite popular. It is the turn of Mike Langmaid to apply to be re-elected this year and I would ask you all to take the time to vote, Mike will certainly receive my support, his value and commitment to the club is unquestionable.
Just a reminder that under the terms of our constitution, any member can apply for a non executive position on the Committee prior to the AGM, if you wish to do so you should send an e-mail to debs@lfcgrimsby.co.uk to arrive no later than 14 days prior to the date of the AGM. (2nd June)
I look forward to seeing you either at the AGM or during next season, in the meantime have a great summer, with Kind regards Kevin.
We do hope that these newsletters are of interest to you and keep you up to date with matters within the club. If you have any comments or ideas, please let a member of the Committee know, or e-mail us on info@lfcgrimsby.co.uk . Also we have around 230 people signed up to receive e-mail circulars, If you would like to receive information in advance such as ticket availability for example then send your e-mail address to our e-mail as given on the line above.
The voting forms, newsletter and new membership forms have been sent out to all last season’s members, please also note that a voting form for the AGM will also be sent out by e-mail to all signed up members. (You can only vote once by the way), that way you can save money on postage and vote immediately by return – Thank you.

FULHAM – Possible Change
The home premiership match against Fulham scheduled for Sunday April 11th will be postponed if Fulham defeat Tottenham Hotspur in the F.A. Cup quarter-final replay and progress to the F.A. PORTSMOUTH – A sign of the times
For the first time for a Premier League fixture we will not be running a coach to the Portsmouth match on Monday 15th March.A Monday night match at 8pm meaning our members would not get home until 0130 hours at the earliest, again changed for live television coverage has finally taken it’s toll, even amongst some of the loyalist members.
With the West Ham match also moved to a Monday night, it’s not been a very good year for Saturday 3pm kick off times watching L.F.C.
WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO FOOTBALL MATCHES BEING PLAYED AT A WEEK-END ?? – The headline above unfortunately says it all !
Returned Ticket information
We have on FIVE occasions returned tickets this season, the total number of tickets we have returned is 75 which is just under 10% of our tickets received), we can’t remember prior to this season the last time we have returned tickets to L.F.C., the late switch to Monday night matches and the meaningless game at Home to Fiorentina in the Champions League didn’t help matters.
We have obviously returned the poorest view tickets as a matter of priority.
A full detailed analysis of our tickets received throughout the season will appear in our next newsletter which will be issued in May.
Numbers In Brief :-
325 – The number of members this season on our membership register.
116 – The number of members on our Facebook page
228 – The number of people on our e-mail notification list
13 – The number of years since we organised our first coach the Anfield !
NOTES FROM THE CHAIR
Welcome to this special edition newsletter which is being sent out to all members to advise them of the chance to apply for tickets for the remaining few matches.
It has been a difficult season for our supporters club, on the positive note the amount of restricted tickets have been reduced and controlled by LFC this season so that has to be a bonus, however being cut back on our allocation in general hasn’t helped matters. If you add to this the fact the our early exit from the Champions league and subsequent inclusion in the Europa League has meant that some of our home matches have been put back to Sunday’s, then of course there is the issue of ESPN matches on a Monday evening, all of which has caused problems for our own club.
It has been a sad start to the new year, with the loss of both Geoff Holland and Ann North, I had the pleasure of working with Geoff on the Committee, he was such a likeable Gentleman, furthermore his dedication and contribution to our supporters club at the time he held office was second to none.
Finally the feedback on our January Function (with guests Jan Molby, Darren Farley & Les Lawson) has been overwhelming, I am glad that many of you had a great time, organising events such as this makes it worthwhile when our Committee receive such kind comments – Kevin.
We do hope that these newsletters are of interest to you and keep you up to date with matters within the club. If you have any comments or ideas, please let a member of the Committee know, or e-mail us on info@lfcgrimsby.co.uk . Also we have around 230 people signed up to receive e-mail circulars, If you would like to receive information in advance such as ticket availability for example then send your e-mail address to our e-mail as given on the line above..
